The 2024 Diocesan Speech Contest was held on Wednesday, December 4th, at St. James School in Davis, CA. Students were to address the following prompt:
As an adolescent, living at the inception of AI, how can you and your generation affirm Pope Francis’ thoughts regarding the power of humanity over AI, particularly when it comes to education and the dignity and rights of all individuals?
Two 8th graders, Lauren Loomba and Aviana Rosales, rose to the challenge by confidently presenting their speeches against students from 22 schools in the Sacramento Diocese. Congratulations Lauren and Aviana!
